The babies love this.They can lay on their back or tummy to play with any of the things on it.

Mixed Feelings--Monkeying in the Middle

This play gym was one of my shower presents that I pulled out when my son was born. He didn\'t have much interest in it for the first month, but since then has enjoyed the mat for lying on and reaching up towards the toys. He is now exactly at the 3 month mark and able to reach the center ring without a problem. He seems to enjoy it.



On the surface, this is a nice little gym, easily portable since it zips up and has handles. Works well for young children and has bright colors and stimulating toys hanging from the arch. Our son particularly likes the dangling mirror toy and talks to the reflection of himself. However, there are some design features that are not entirely intuitive--my husband and I didn\'t realize the red pockets on the bottom opened up and the purple feet swung out to form an \'L\' on both sides to support the arch. Before that we were using books to support it and baffled as to how anyone could keep the arch up. Now that we\'ve figured out the trick, no books are needed.



This is clearly a toy for very young children. Our son at three months is just about ready to outgrow it: he\'ll be rolling over soon and right now is crashing into the arch when he tries. Also, the toys are not meant for him to chew on, and it won\'t be long before he\'s able to. He\'s managed to hit the arch over with his legs if we don\'t place him well under it (seems to enjoy that game). I believe that the play gym is meant for about up to three months or so, thus I\'m not entirely surprised about the fact he\'s outgrowing the gym.



I am, however, concerned and confused by a few things. The first is that the mat should be machine washable--but I can\'t figure out how to detach it from the plastic parts to throw it in the wash. I\'ve had my entire family try to figure it out. However it works, it\'s not obvious or something is wrong with my particular mat. Secondly, one of the tags included on the play gym has a clear warning that states there is a strangulation hazard and that it should not be attached to a crib or playpen. This goes against that actual advertisement for the item itself which touts the fact that it is designed to attach to a crib. So, unless that warning is meant for the mat part of the structure alone (and it is not clear that it does) I am faced with a very mixed message.



Overall I\'m more confused than entirely dissatisfied. This isn\'t a bad product for a 0-3 month old infant, but I\'d like to have the difficulties I\'m having cleared up, and would have like the supporting feet to be a little more obvious.

Great for on the go or just laying around...

The Happy Hippo Travel Gym is a great buy for anyone. It is fairly inexpensive and provides lots of entertainment for your little one. It is colorful and has a hanging mirror, rattle and toy that are all detachable. All of this is packed into a convenient carrying case that zips up. The gym is great to unzip and lay on the floor for tummy time or back time. It has just enough padding that your baby can play or nap comfortably on it and still not take up a large amount of space. The only down fall to this product is you have to make sure the levers are turned so that the overhead wire that holds the toys stays in place. If it is not tightened it will start to droop towards the floor. It is not harmful to your baby in any way it just does not stay in place unless it is screwed in. We have two of these, one for our home and one for Grandma\'s. My baby absolutely loves his tummy and back time on the Happy Hippo.

A Life-Saver Product

This product provides an Activity for the infant that allows you to watch television, talk on the phone, or whatever. My grandaughter enjoys this mat very much.

Good for tummy time....

This product was suggested to me as a \'must have\' by a friend. I have to say that yes, we could live without it, but it\'s also a nice thing to have. If for nothing else, it\'s a good shaped mat for our baby to lay on when he\'s on the floor. We sometimes put him on here with his head on the pillow when he\'s playing with toy bars that dangle above him. The pillow is also good for propping up his arms/hands for tummy time. He\'s not too interested in the water feature, and I have had trouble filling it. I think it\'s a little silly to refill it every day. Ours doesn\'t leak, and our baby certainly doesn\'t bite through it (he has no teeth!) so I don\'t know why everyone is freaking out about that. Might be a tad expensive for what you get, but if you get it as a gift (which we did), hang onto it. Your baby might like it!

Good but not doctor recommended

I likes this and so di dnoy son, I agree the water was hard to put in and empty and I did not do it every day as rocommended. I talked with my doctor and realized that this is an inhibiter. This will prevent my child from actually learning to use his arms and legs on his own. My doctor said flat on a clean floor or blanket was the baet way, this way he has to raise his head to see what is going on rather than be propped up and \"cheating\" I thought this made senses and stopped using it. It was nice while it lasted though.

My Son Loves It

The mat was thinner than i had anticipated (i have hardwood floors and there really isn\'t enough padding in the actual mat). I can not figure out how to fill the water up in it :/ however the pillow on it was great. i started using this mat with my son around a month and the pillow game him that lil bit of extra support. Though he could already support himself pretty well my goal was for him to learn how to roll over and the pillow definately helped to accomplish that task. He LOVES the toys that came attached to it. My son loved the mat. Tho i don\'t think its worth that high of a price for what it is.

I really like this playmat. My grandson is only 9 weeks old & he already has an interest in the toys hanging down. If he swings his arms, he hits them by accident & he\'s not sure what that\'s all about! Only 2 downsides that I can find, the first one is that I wish the mat were bigger (he will be longer then the mat very soon) and also, the mirror is a very distorted image (made of flexible mirror material) & could use some better music. All around though, I think it will keep him amused for quite some time.

Received this playmat in timely fashion and put it together pretty easily. I will have to say, I agree with other reviewers that the animals are rather low, but since my grandson is only 2 months, it is perfect for him now--very colorful and easy for him to bat about--lots of fun entertainment for all!

Don\'t overpay on something else, This product has all your baby needs.

We were amazed at how pricey these playmat/activity gyms can cost across different brands. We decided to buy this one knowing it was lower priced but still offered a variety of colors, textures, toys, and sounds. Sufficed it to say, it has met all of our baby\'s needs and gets use every single day. Our daughter LOVES the musical mirror that is detachable and her first 3 mos. we took that mirror with us everywhere - in her carseat, on her bouncer, etc. The dangly toys have variety and are colorfully captivating. The fabric bars are the right height - not too low or high for baby\'s reach - even as she grows. It\'s easy to collapse and take with you too! Glad we didn\'t pay DOUBLE for a different play mat with just a few more bells and whistles when this one does the trick just fine!

Fun, bright play mat

This is a great play mat! My daughter loves it. The toys are low enough that she can interact with them. And it is easy for me to pick up and put down with just one hand. The colors are bright and fun.

This mat was rated #1 toys for babies in Parents Magazine Nov 2008.

So far I love IT!! Especially for the $$

Have to say, I love this play mat. I looked at so many before making the purchase, but my baby loved it right away. Some of those mats are $60-70... this one was only $40. Mat is colorful and the cute hanging toys are low enough for him to hit them. He is only 2 months and lacks a little hand control... When he gets older, I know the height of the toys will keep him interested because he will be able to really play with them. Don\'t waste the $ on the other ones. They really only use them a few months anyway.... Good purchase, really happy.

Great purchase - money well spent

Our daughter has reflux and hated tummy time. This toy interested her enough to distract her from the discomfort. She went from barely being able to hold her head up on the floor to holding up on both elbows, to reaching out to crinkle the peek-a-boo leaves on the side over the space of two weeks.

This is still a favorite toy even though she is sitting up now. I\'m not sure why it is so hard to find in stores - thank god for amazon or we wouldn\'t have found it.

If your child is having trouble with tummy time or just gets bored and frustrated with it no matter what you do, this is the toy for you!

Not what I expected

This item is cute and my child likes it however I feel it\'s entirely too small to condone a thirty dollar price tag. I got it on sale and I can\'t see anyone paying more than twenty with shipping for it.

Infantino Play Time Activity Center is for 3 months and up. It can be used for traveling (folds up easily) or at home. It is a great educational toy that uses your childs different senses like sound, sight, and texture. The Activity Center consists of four activity-packed sides with a peek-a-boo mirror, put-and-take bird\'s nest, large water pouch fish tank, and peek-and-see leaves. It is a wonderful toy whether your child is doing tummy time or seated play.



The only thing that I don\'t like about this toy is the backings of the birds (from the put-and-take bird\'s nest) are made out of felt. After pulling the birds off of the Velcro so many times, it can rip or thin out.
